Classic Hotel Krakow

Wentzl Hotel Krakow hotel

Hotel recommended in the MICHELIN GUIDE 2010

We're lucky to find a hotel on one of the quiet side streets leading to the Old Town. Such location is a real treasure, especially when we consider the fact that the Classic is also easy to reach by tram or bus from the side of the Planty Park.
The hotel is rather small and gracefully settled among the surrounding tenement houses. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, allowing for relaxation and undisturbed rest, necessary in an attraction-filled city such as this. Taking into consideration the location and the room, perhaps it would be possible to find something even better, but how long we'd have to search… A tourist or a travelling businessperson will find comfortable accommodations here either in a standard room or in an apartment. There are many opportunities around to get acquainted with Krakow's culinary side.
And the front desk staff will gladly assist in anything, providing service with a smile.

Rooms

The Classic's appeal is its coziness – there are only 32 rooms here, including 5 apartments. In the apartment there is a bedroom with a marital bed and a living room with a sofa.
Rooms are immaculately clean, well-maintained and also quiet. Ecological and warm interior is the successful project of a Danish designer Klaus Jensen. It's nice to relax in such room after a day of visiting Krakow's historic places, especially if it's one of the rooms not facing the street, since they are quieter.
In every room there's a telephone, satellite TV and free internet access. All rooms are air-conditioned.
Bathrooms are equipped with showers and sometimes bathtubs and are sparklingly clean.
There are separate floors for smokers and non-smokers.
There is one room for disabled guests.

Restaurant

There is no true restaurant at the hotel. The hotel has a club room with a bar and of course offers breakfasts, which deserves a true praise. A large selection of buffet delicacies will make all the hungry guests happy in the morning.
The bar closes as early as 7 PM and if it weren't for that, evenings with a cup of coffee or with a drink would be much more pleasant at the Classic. Good thing that we're living almost in the Old Town and right after stepping out of the hotel, we'll find many pubs and restaurants open nearly all night. Perhaps equipping rooms with coffee/tea makers would go some way toward alleviating the lack of possibility to have anything to drink at the hotel bar in the evening. We can also visit the competition – the inexpensive and good Campanile Hotel is located right next door.

Additional services

Parking spaces in an underground car park are available. The cost is about 70 PLN and a space must be reserved in advance.
Another possibility to park a car is to use the Wyspiański Hotel's car park, which is located on the other side of Planty Park, at Westerplatte Street.

Location

The hotel isn't difficult to find if we're going through the Planty Park, for instance from the PKP railway station. On the left hand side on the corner we'll see the Campanile Hotel; the Classic is right next to it.
A walk along Planty Park's alleys towards the PKP train station and the PKS bus terminal will take us only 15 minutes.
Krakow-Balice Airport is located 15 kilometers away.
Narrow, charming streets adjacent to ¦w. Tomasza Street will lead us straight to the Market Square in less than 5 minutes.
There are plenty of opportunities to eat out on the town. Around the hotel there are many small and large pubs, restaurants offering cuisine from al over the world, snack stands and shops.
