The Atrium definitely stands out among three-star hotels in Krakow. It wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that several local four-star hotels could envy its staff, price-to-quality ratio and location.
The hotel is situated in the very centre (500 meters from the PKP and PKS Station and the Market Place), but luckily on a side street, thanks to which the big city noise has no chance to make us tired.
Fantastic service and modern decor, all that delights us and makes us regret leaving the Atrium. The hotel was established only in 2001, but it has already undergone a general renovation - which is obvious every step of the way. The rooms are pretty, spacious, pristinely clean and functionally furnished. Additionally, the hotel has wireless internet access, two conference rooms and its own, inexpensive car park.
Air-conditioning in all rooms, not just those on the fourth floor, would certainly make guests on lower floors happy.
Front desk agents (constantly smiling and helpful) speak excellent English; they can also communicate in German and Italian, if necessary.
Rooms
At the Atrium, we can book a standard single room, a double or a triple. If we need more space and independence, there are apartments with kitchenettes available. All rooms are equipped with TV sat, radios and telephones. Their decor is pretty; however, it could use a little more character, additional decorative elements. The Atrium is very cozy and „just the right size” - there are 52 rooms on the building’s four floors. The bathrooms are absolutely unbeatable - large and sparklingly clean. In the apartments they are huge and equipped with convenient corner bathtubs. For children such a bathtub is almost a pool, and thanks to kitchenettes, the apartments seem like a great solution for families.
Unfortunately, air-conditioned rooms are only on the fourth floor. However, Room Service is available to everyone.
The Atrium also offers two rooms for handicapped persons. The building is equipped with a lift.
Half of the rooms are non-smoking.
Restaurant
If a breakfast is a good start to a day, at the Atrium it is a wonderful start. Rich selection of hot and cold appetizers is the best proof of that.
The chef made sure that we have plenty to choose from among many meals of Polish and continental cuisine and that the price is memorable only because it is unexpectedly low. Particularly recommended delicacy is stewed veal with mixed mushrooms and green pepper.
Modernly decorated patio with a glassy roof only adds taste to the entire culinary offer of the air-conditioned restaurant.
Conference
The Atrium has two midsize conference rooms, which together can hold about 100 people, depending on the selected configuration. They are equipped with professional gear and air-conditioned. At the Business Centre, it is possible to use a computer with internet access, a fax and a copier.
Restaurant provides professional catering - coffee breaks, conference lunches and the possibility to organize a banquet.
Additional services
Traveling with a laptop makes sense here, because the (reasonable) room rate includes wireless internet access.
A stay at the Atrium is an excellent chance to take advantage of the staff’s knowledge and courtesy by asking them to organize an excursion. Mandatory points of a stay in Krakow are a trip to the underground excavations chambers of the Wieliczka salt mine and a visit to Auschwitz.
The hotel has its own car park and keeping in mind the location in the very centre of the city, its cost is rather symbolic -15 EUR for 24 hours.
It’s possible to order an airport transfer; its cost for 2 people is 80 PLN.
The hotel accepts pets, the fee for their stay is very low - only 7 EUR.
Prices include breakfast and VAT.
The PLN and USD rates fluctuate according to the EUR rates of exchange.
