The beginnings of the hotel go back in time to the 18th century. The city chronicles mention the "Pod Bialym Orlem" Inn (White Eagle Inn), located in three tenement houses, that welcomed the guests who had passed the city gates. Since 1913 the hotel has been owned by the aristocratic Czartoryskis clan. They have contributed to the charm of the hotel in a significant way. They have put their famous collection of paintings in the building the hotel is located in. Till nowadays the hotel is owned by the Czartoryski princes.
Krakow has expanded its area since the historical times. But the "Polski Pod Bialym Orlem" Hotel still seems to greet the travelers that come to the part of the city, when you can feel the magical spirit – to the Old Town. Being located at the beginning of the Royal Tract the hotel is a perfect place for starting the journeys throughout Krakow and an excellent place for business guests, as most of the key points of the city are close. The signboard "Hotel Polski" welcomes you as you turn to Pijarska Street.

Rooms

After checking in at the reception desk you will be guided to your room. On the way you are free to enjoy the view of asymmetrical ceilings right next to the lobby and admire the paintings from the Czartoryski’s collection.
There are 54 comfortably arranged rooms (singles, doubles and triples), including suites in the Polski Hotel. All the rooms are furnished elegantly in the style of old, Polish aristocracy. However old the style may be, the furniture is well kept, the rooms are neat and clean, and the equipment is far from being old. Every room in the "Polski Hotel" equipped with TVsat, telephone and a radio. In some of the rooms there is a possibility of connecting a laptop to the Internet. The hotel is adjusted to the needs of the disabled guests. There are lifts easily accessible and the bathrooms in some of the rooms are especially arranged and equipped.
The staff is friendly and willing to help in any situation.

Restaurant

To have a proper dinner, I suggest choosing one of the restaurants outside the hotel. As there is plenty of them offering dishes from various cuisines, there should be absolutely no problem with that. However, if you don’t feel like going out or you simply have no time, there is a very cozy café in the "Polski" Hotel.
The half-round brick ceiling and dark-green furniture and floors make a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. Small tables and pleasant armchairs covered with day light are there to calm you down and make you forget about the problems for a while.
The café is a perfect place to go if you want to have coffee or tea. You can order a drink at the drink-bar, the bartender will prepare something really delicious. As mentioned, it may be not a perfect place to have a proper dinner, but if you are hungry, there is a wide choice of snacks that will surely satisfy you.

Additional Services

As Krakow is a perfect place for tourists the "Polski" Hotel has prepared an offer of excursions including the most interesting places in the city. Apart from that the trips to Wieliczka, Auschwitz, Zakopane and Czêstochowa are organized. So if you would like to get to know more about the history of that part of Poland feel free to ask about the offer at the reception desk.

The hotel will also help you to rent a car or to buy any sort of tickets.

The nearest praking zone is at Sw.Marka Street, a street away from the hotel.

The "Polski Pod Orlem" Hotel is located right at the beginning of the Royal Tract (leading from the St. Florian’s Gate to the Wawel Castle).

While staying in the "Polski" Hotel, it is simply a necessity to visit the closest museum of Czartoryscy and see the famous Leonardo da Vinci’s "Lady with an Ermine".

To get to the hotel from the main railway and bus station it is the best to take a walk or to order a taxi if you have heavy luggage. From the airport you have to take one of the buses or a train coming to the city center (to "Dworzec Glowny") and then take a walk or order a taxi.
