The basis of the building Senacki Hotel is located in comes from the medieval times. At first it was a one-storey building, but throughout the years more and more was built. The façade of the hotel comes from the end of the 19th century. It shows in the classicistic forms, architectural ornamentations surrounding the windows and flower motifs on the façade.
The hotel is located at the Royal Tract, i.e. Grodzka Street, that leads from the Old Town’s Main Market to the Wawel Castle. In fact, the hotel is closer to Wawel than to the Main Market.
It is typical for the hotels in Krakow to be located in historical tenement houses. The Senacki Hotel is no exception. There are buildings of the oldest European University neighboring the hotel, specifically it is Collegium Iuridicum built at the turn of the 14th century. While staying in the hotel you should take a short walk to see the interesting sculpture of I. Mitoraj standing in the court of Collegium Iurisdicum.
The hotel looks great especially at night, when the magical streets of Old Krakow are filled with electrical lights and the illumination of the hotel’s façade looks fabulous.
The hotel staff speaks Polish and English.
Rooms
There are single and double rooms (both standard and lux) prepared for the guests coming to Senacki Hotel in Krakow. The rooms are very nicely arranged and as far as the arrangement is concerned (the furniture, the colors etc.) they surely deserve more than three stars the hotel is given. There is a telephone, a TV-set with the free of charge access to DVD chanels, a free Internet connection and a mini-bar. The bathrooms in the hotel rooms are clean and neat. They are equipped with either a bath tube or a shower cabin.
The Lux rooms in the Senacki Hotel are surely of a higher standard. They have additional room with a table and stylish chairs, that can be used as a living-room.
There is a differentiation of the prices as far as the location of the room in the hotel is concerned. The rooms in the attic are a little cheaper. However, there is no difference as far as the standard is concerned. What’s more, I would say that the rooms in the attic are more cozy, although a little smaller and surely not for very tall guests.
A feature of the rooms worth mentioning is their window view. If the room overlooks Grodzka Street, the guests can enjoy the view of the monumental baroque St. Peter and Paul’s church coming from the 17th century and one of the oldest churches in Krakow - St. Andrew’s church, coming from the 11th century. The windows on the other side of the hotel overlook historical buildings that once belonged to the canons of the Wawel Chapter and Kopiec Ko¶ciuszki (The Kosciuszko’s Mound).
Conference rooms
The conference rooms in the cellar are equipped with all the necessary conference equipment (audio-visual, for presentations and sound system) needed to organize a training or a business meeting. The staff will film your meeting if requested. There are special discounts as far as the accommodation is concerned for the participants of the meetings. A larger group of the participants will not be a problem, as the hotel promises to find the accommodation in other hotels located nearby. The hotel has a well organized catering service that can be used during a meeting (coffee or lunch breaks, business breakfasts and formal supper).
The hotel will also organize the transfer from and to the airport if necessary.
Additional Services
Unfortunately there is no parking zone at the hotel. It is due to the restrictions concerning the transportation in the Old Town. The nearest parking zone is about 250 meters away in the Wszystkich ¦więtych Square.
If you travel by air, the hotel is ready to organize the transfer from and to the hotel.
For the tourists coming to stay at the hotel as well as organizers of the business meetings the hotel can prepare a trip with a guide throughout the most interesting places in Krakow combined with an elegant dinner in one of the Krakow’s restaurant or a trip to O¶więcim or Wieliczka.
